EDC returned to Las Vegas this month with a full week of activities for music fans. The event drew hundreds of thousands of attendees, many of whom arrived by air.
Harry Reid International Airport gave those travelers the first live music experience of their trip with a performance by student DJs from nearby Sierra Vista High School. The students are part of the school’s SV Beats program, which teaches aspiring musicians about music production and performance, as well as the business side of the music industry.
This is the second consecutive year that SV Beats DJs performed for EDC crowds at LAS. The program was expanded this year to encompass two days — Thursday and Friday before the festival.
“The airport is the first look at Las Vegas for our travelers,” said Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis. “Inviting these young DJs to perform here during EDC was a win-win. Not only did they build excitement for the festival, we were able to provide a warm welcome for all our guests and highlight the wonderful talent we have right here in our community.”
