Holidays at LAS are for decking the halls and giving back

The holiday season at Harry Reid Airport transforms the travel experience into a festive celebration filled with good cheer and goodwill.

Kicking off the season was the annual tree lighting ceremony featuring the Doris French Elementary School choir. The children performed a variety of Christmas classics before joining airport leadership to light the tree.

In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, LAS was proud to host an Angel Tree donation drive. This tradition allowed employees to adopt “angels” — children in need of gifts during the holidays. A total of 75 local children will receive gifts thanks to this initiative. The project also highlights the airport’s commitment to making a difference in the community.

Another exciting event was the airport’s holiday tree decorating contest. Various airport partners came together to showcase their creativity by designing trees in keeping with the year’s theme of Nutcracker Forest. Not only did the contest make the terminals sparkle and shine, participants contributed coats, shoes, hygiene products, gift cards, and more to a donation drive benefitting teens at Child Haven.
