The next time you drive to the airport, you may notice a unique billboard on the roadways — one showcasing the artwork of a local student.
Thanks to a collaboration of the office of Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson and Connell Outdoor Advertising, a billboard at Harry Reid Airport has been designated to exhibit student’s work for visitors from around the world.
The artwork of Evelyn Hernandez, a third grader at Gene Ward Elementary School, was selected for best encapsulating the theme, “Springtime in the Desert.”
This is the second piece of student artwork highlighted on the billboard. In December 2023, the work of Gene Ward Elementary fourth grader Jorge Saldana-Cruz was featured for the theme “Winter in the Desert.”
LAS is excited to highlight the talented students in our community and eager to see the future masterpieces that are selected.
