James C. Chrisley has been named Director of Aviation for Harry Reid International and the system of airports in Clark County. Chrisley brings more than three decades of leadership experience across commercial, general aviation, and military airport operations to the role.
Chrisley joined the Clark County Department of Aviation as Senior Director in 2015. In his new role, he will continue to oversee one of the most dynamic aviation systems in the U.S.
As Senior Director, he played a key role in the airport’s support for Southern Nevada’s high-profile mega events, like Las Vegas’ first-ever Super Bowl and the Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix. He has also overseen the long-term revitalization of Clark County’s airports, including the Henderson Executive and North Las Vegas Airport master plans, as well as projects to modernize and maximize Harry Reid Airport to meet future aviation demand.
Going forward, Chrisley will be responsible for planning, coordinating and advancing the Southern Nevada Supplemental Airport (SNSA) project, which, once permitted and completed, will serve as the region’s second commercial airport. He will also lead Clark County’s airports in providing a memorable guest experience for all passengers.
“I am honored to lead the Clark County aviation system at such an exciting time,” said Chrisley. “Our airports play a critical role in connecting people, driving tourism, and powering our local and state economy. I look forward to continuing our tradition of operational excellence while preparing for the future of air travel in Southern Nevada through a series of modernization, maximization, and expansion initiatives.”
Chrisley served more than 21 years in the U.S. Air Force as a civil engineer and mission support officer. He supported global military operations and held assignments at Creech and Nellis Air Force Bases in Southern Nevada. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Master of Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
