High-flying fun at our annual Paper Plane Palooza

Jul 30, 2025 | Community, Events

Another Paper Plane Palooza is in the books! More than 70 kids from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Nevada teamed up with employees from all over the airport to create paper airplanes and compete in distance and accuracy throwing contests. The children also received lunch, treats, prizes, and donations of school supplies, backpacks, and rolling suitcases.

This year’s champion is Team United Airlines — a first-time winner. Teams also competed for the best table décor, with Team Guns & Hoses (airport police and firefighters) taking the top prize.

Paper Plane Palooza originated in 2013 as a celebration of the first anniversary of Terminal 3’s opening. It has since evolved into a beloved tradition connecting children in our community to the airport and allowing them to learn about the career paths available in aviation.
